Celebrate Fall at The Rags to Witches Festival

Jack O Lantern

This October, join the Ragdale Artist Collective in celebrating the spooky season at the 3rd Annual Rags to Witches Festival. Located at the historic Howard Van Doren Shaw Estate near our apartments in Lake Forest, this annual event is a community favorite that combines performance art with a classic harvest festival.

Rags to Witches Main Event

On Sunday, October 20th, Halloween lovers of all ages are invited to the Ragdale Estate for a day of art, imagination, and holiday fun. From 3 to 7 p.m., visitors can expect to be transported to a harvest festival unlike any other. Over 40 artists put together this event’s line-up of hands-on art projects, live performances, and spellbinding games. Visitors will be regaled with ghost stories, take part in a scavenger hunt, and stumble upon both tricks and treats. Visit their website to purchase tickets and plan your spooky day. Don’t forget to wear your best costume!

After Dark Party

When the sun goes down, the haunted estate at Ragdale gets even spookier! This year from 6 to 8 p.m., there will be an ‘After Dark’ party for teens and adults only. Attendees will witness the lighting of the estate and several art installations. The bravest might wish to explore the Pet Cemetery and Haunted Barnhouse. Be careful, you don’t know what might be lurking after nightfall!

The Eye Ball Fundraiser

Dubbed a ‘Screamraiser’ by its creators, this costume party raises funds for Ragdale artistic and school programs. This adults-only party features a costume contest, lip-sync battles, and a silent auction. Eye Ball guests will enjoy live music and artist performances, as well as get a sneak-peek of the Haunted Barnhouse. The Eye Ball will take place Friday, October 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn more or purchase your tickets on their website.
